Henin the Queen of Paris

Once again, Justine Henin has showed her supremacy on the court. The Belgian has not lost a set at Roland Garros since 2005, and this Saturday she became the first person since Monica Seles in 1900-1992, to win three French Opens in a row.

Henin was as good as ever at Roland Garros. Her victory over Serbia’s Ana Ivanovic 6-1, 6-2 just in 65 minutes, doesn’t leave any doubts of her abilities and confirms her status as one of the all-times greats on clay.

This triumph means a lot to Henin, who has had a difficult year after separating from her husband Pierre-Yves Hardenne, regarding it she said: “It's not easy but I'm glad and I'm proud of myself because I now know I can do things by myself. It was very important that I could prove that to myself.”

However, she was looking very happy due to the fact that her family members with whom she only recently re-established contact was there to support her in one of the most important moments of her sport career.

Winning this title places Henin as the fifth woman since 1925 to win the French title four or more times, joining greats; Chris Evert, Steffi Graf, Margaret Court and Helen Wills Moody. Moreover, with the clay court season now ended, the Belgium is looking towards the grass court season to complete her Grand Slam collection.
